Drug-Free Pain Relief Similar to acupuncture, but without needles, Jin Shin Jyutsu uses gentle hand and finger pressure to free up blocked energy in the body, thereby releasing accumulated tension. Our bodies contain three main vital energy pathways that descend and ascend within the body. These pathways feed life energy into all our cells and body organs and can become blocked to stress, poor dietary and exercise habits and the attitudes we carry through life. When one or more of these pathways become blocked, the "damming" effect may result in discomfort, pain, disease and ailments. The typical Jin Shin Jyutsu session lasts about an hour, during which the receiver remains clothed, laying face up on a massage table. After "listening" to the pulses in the clients rests, the practitioner employs a harmonizing sequence or "flow" by holding various "pressure points" or "Safety Energy Locks". This facilitates the release of blockages in the particular energy pathways as well as aids the body in restoring balance. The results can be dramatic, often lasting days. At the end of each session clients are offered "self-help" instructions to use at home, so they can reduce tension and stress on a daily basis. |
